France’s Kylian Mbappé was taken to a hospital in Germany after breaking his nose in France’s 1-0 victory against Austria at the Euro 2024.
After at the 1st moment fearing their superstar forward would need procedure and could miss time at the tournament in Germany, France FF chief Philippe Diallo announced that the nation’s medical team determined Kylian would be able to play without procedure after undergoing new tests.
Los Blancos new star left the hospital at 1 a.m. local time and is back with his teammates. Kylian is having a custom mask made for him that he will need to wear when he is on the pitch and is still unclear if he will play at the end of the week vs. the Netherlands.
The forward, involved in the 1st-half goal, clashed heads with Austria’s Kevin Danso near the end of the match. Mbappe remained on the grass as the medical team rushed on the pitch to help him.
“Mbappe is got a really bad nose,” France head coach Didier Deschamps revealed after the victory.
