Local favorite Coco Gauff advanced to the third round of the US Open after a quick win against 16-year-old Mira Andreeva 6:3, 6:2.
The match began with exchanged breaks, then in the fourth game Gauff broke again. The world number 6 did not allow surprises until the end of the set and closed the part on her own serve.
The first break in the second set came in the third game and several equal games followed, but at 4:2 the American again took the opponent’s serve and closed the match without losing a point in her service game.
