Germany and Switzerland win at the IIHF tonight

Germany won against Denmark 6-4 in a 10-goal show at Tampere Deck Arena in front of 4000 spectators. Switzerland defeated Slovakia 4-2 at Arena Riga as almost 5000 people watched the match.

Six players scored for the Germany victory as the national team won their 1st match at the World Championship after starting with 3 losses; for Denmark, that was the 1^st defeat at the IIHF.

Switzerland won 4 straight matches and is in 1^st place in Group B with 12 points, as Canada is right behind them with 11 points. Slovakia remains with 1 victory against Latvia but is in 5^th place and still has a chance to clinch the top 4 and advance to the quarterfinals.
