Giannis Antetokounmpo got angry at the press conference after his team was eliminated by Miami Heat in the East’s 1st round of the playoffs. Heat beat Milwaukee Bucks 128-126 after overtime and shocked the top seed in the NBA after eliminating them after 5 matches.
“It’s not a failure; it’s steps to success,” the Greek star claimed. “There are always steps to it. MJ played 15 seasons and won 6 titles. The other 9 seasons was a failure? That’s what you’re telling me?
“It’s an incorrect question; there’s no failure in sports. There are happy days, sad days. Sometimes you’re able to be successful, and sometimes you’re not.
Some days it’s your chance; some days, it’s not yours. And that’s what sports is about. You don’t always get the victory. Sometimes other people win. And this season, somebody else will triumph, simple as that.”
Milwaukee started the playoffs as the favorite to win it all after finishing with the best record in the regular season in the league. Still, it was defeated 4-1 in their matchup in the 1st round against Miami.
A Bucks season with championship aspirations came to a premature end on Wednesday night.
So was it a failure? @eric_nehm asked a passionate Giannis Antetokounmpo after the loss.
