The NY Giants are appointing Matt Nagy to be their OC.
Matt, who was the Chiefs’ OC for the last 3 years, will have the job to lead the development of 2nd-year QB Jaxson Dart and an offense that has other young weapons like Malik Nabers and Cam Skattebo.
The Giants’ new offensive coordinator has spent much of his time as an assistant under Kansas City manager Andy Reid. John Harbaugh, who is the new head coach of the New York, also worked for a long period under the Chiefs’ boss.
John landed on Nagy after his preferred choice, Todd Monken, was appointed as the manager of the Browns. Todd had been Harbaugh’s OC with the Ravens for the last 3 seasons.
Nagy, who guided the league’s 20th-ranked offense in the past campaign with the Chiefs, interviewed for several head coaching positions after leading the Bears from 2018 to 2021. Matt was among the favorites for the Titans, but they eventually picked Robert Saleh.
Kansas City offenses under the Giants’ new OC finished 9th, 16th, and 20th in the last 3 seasons in total yards.
