According to reports in Gazzetta dello Sport, Giroud was already suffering from symptoms during Saturday’s 2-1 loss to Fiorentina in Serie A at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
This couldn’t come at the worse time for the 36-year-old striker with the looming clash against Tottenham on Wednesday night. Giroud is apparently recovering and his condition seems to be improving, but there are doubts as to whether he will take his starting place in the match.
Giroud’s condition will be assessed at Milanello tomorrow morning whilst the rest of the team will focus on training ahead of their scheduled afternoon flight over to England.
AC Milan coach Stefan Pioli is thinking of taking the Frenchman along with the other squad, despite his health issues. Pioli is hoping that, even if Giroud doesn’t start, he might still play a role in the visit at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
If the French star is due to miss the match players like Ante Rebic, Divock Origi or Charles De Ketelaere are set to fill in the void.
