The Nuggets announced the news on Wednesday and revealed that Gordon is in ‘good condition’, but will not be able to take part in the team’s games.
The 28-year-old is averaging 13.6 points and 6.9 rebounds for the defending NBA champions. He had 16 points and 10 rebounds in a 120-114 win over Golden State on Christmas.
It is unknown when will the return for the power forward be, but the unusual nature of the injury has certainly caught the Nuggets off guard. They will be hoping for as swift recovery as possible.
