Several matches into Aaron Rodgers’ 1st campaign as the Green Bay Packers starting QB back in 2008, they gave him a deal extension. At the same period in Jordan Love’s 1st campaign as starting QB, they can’t vouch whether he’s the long-term future of the team.
Jordan still has another season left on his contract, so it’s not urgent for him to ink an extension. But Green Bay is hoping that by the end of the current campaign, they will know if he is the future of the organization.

“I hope not,” Green Bay GM Brian Gutekunst shared today during his annual midseason news conference. “I think we’ve got 10 matches left. These are going to be very crucial 10 clashes.”
Green Bay began 2-1 under Love, and he had 7 TDs and just 1 pick to that point. However, after that, the Packers have lost 4 matches in a row, and Jordan has thrown only 4 TDs and 7 picks.
