Brittney Griner was named a WNBA All-Star for the ninth time in her career and a little over six months after being released from a Russian prison.
Phoenix Mercury center said before the start of the season that she’ll need some time to come back to her full abilities after the 10 months she spent in Russia, but everyone was left astonished by how good she played for Mercury.
She averaged 19.1 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game this season for the struggling Mercury that finished dead last in the Wester Conference.
