Erling Haaland has the same number of goals for a season in the league as Liverpool’s striker Mohamed Salah who did it in Premier League’s 17-18 season.
Man. City will play 8 more matches until the end of the season, and Erling only needs one more goal to be alone at the top.
Andy Cole with Newcastle (93-94) and Alan Shearer with Blackburn (94-95) each scored 34 goals in Premier League but in a 42-match season – 4 more than the current format.
The Norwegian forward netted the record goal in the 25th minute against the Foxes at Etihad Stadium. However, Haaland was substituted at halftime and did not have a chance to score a hattrick and break Salah’s record of 42 goals against Leicester.
