Premier League shared a 7-player shortlist today with Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne of the Sky Blues vs. Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard from the London club.
The other candidates for the award are the Red Devils striker Marcus Rashford, Spurs forward Harry Kane, and the Magpies defender Kieran Trippier.
Haaland is the favorite as he scored the most goals in a single EPL season in his debut campaign in the league as he joined Man. City from Borussia Dortmund. Erling has had 36 goals in 33 matches till now.
De Bruyne is the only active player to have won the Premier League Player of the Year 2 times, as he was 1st in the last campaign and in 2020.
Thierry Henry (Arsenal), Cristiano Ronaldo, and Nemanja Vidic (Manchester United) are the only other footballers who have triumphed with the EPL Player of the Year twice.
