Harry Kane wants to lead England to the European Championship title in 2028. It was revealed on Tuesday that the tournament will be held in the UK and Ireland. Just two years ago, the Three Lions were one penalty away from the title at Wembley Stadium, but Italy lifted the title.
In five years’ time, Kane will be 34 and in the twilight of his career, but he wants revenge for losing the final in 2021.
“I think we have unfinished business, we were so close of doing something really magical at the last European tournament.”
“That’s football, it didn’t end the way we wanted. Not only in Germany next summer, but also at home, playing matches at Wembley, memories of Euro 2020 will come back.”
“We’ll have to wait and see. To win a tournament would be special, but to win it on home soil would be a dream come true. My aim is to still be around by then, but of course it’s still a few years away. At the moment I’m a player who feels as good as I’ve ever been and yes, I’d like to think my career will last into my late 30s – at least,” Kane said.
