The Miami team prevailed in a tightly contested game

The Miami Heat came out on top against the New York Knicks 96-92 in a hard-fought match to win the series 4-2 and book a place in the Eastern Conference finals on Friday night.

Jimmy Butler led the way for Miami with 24 points, followed up by Bam Adebayo with 23.

Max Strus finished the game with 14 points, while Kyle Lowry registered 11 points and 9 assists to his name.

Jalen Brunson was the star man for New York as he bagged home a spectacular 41 points. Unfortunately for him, his teammates combined total was a mere 51.

“Congratulations to the Heat, to the organization, to the coaching staff, Spo and Pat Riley and all their players,” Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau said.

“They played tough in this series and hats off to them. But I’m proud of our guys. There’s always disappointment in the end of the season and in the end, there’ll be one team standing. … Proud of the way this team worked all year.”

The Heat become the second No.8 seed in NBA history to make it to the finals after the Knicks achieved that feat in 1999.

They await their opponent from the Boston-Philadelphia clash, who will settle the score on Sunday as Game 1 will be held on Wednesday.
