The Charlotte's center picked up an unpleasant injury and it is still unknown when he will return to fitness
Charlotte Hornets center Mark Williams underwent a successful thumb surgery to repair his torn ligament and is expected to make full recovery, the team announced on Thursday.
The team confirmed that they don’t know the exact date of William’s recovery, stating that “an update on his status will be provided as appropriate”.
The 21-year-old became central figure for the Charlotte team after they sold Mason Plumlee. He appeared in 43 games, 17 of which as a starter, averaging 9 points in 19.3 minutes.
The 15th overall pick in last year’s draft became one of 10 rookies since the 1999-00 season to record a 20-point game, a 20-rebound game and a 5-block game in a single season.
