Newcastle head coach claimed that a poor decision cost his side the win against PSG.

Eddie Howe admitted he had to “control” himself after the Magpies Champions League prospects sustained a major setback when Kylian Mbappé converted a very controversial penalty in the extra time to secure his team a point at Parc des Princes.

Official Szymon Marciniak – the man in charge of the 2022 World Cup Final — awarded a penalty after a consultation with VAR after the ball struck the arm of the Premier League club defender Tino Livramento after Ousmane Dembélé’s cross.

However, the ball 1st hit Tino’s chest before bouncing onto his arm, but the official still gave the penalty after seeing that on the monitor.

Newcastle’s manager called it a “poor decision” but added that his footballers must still believe they can qualify from the Champions League group stage.

“Yes, I do,” Eddie answered when questioned if he felt a sense of injustice for the PSG’s penalty.
