Top seed Hubert Hurkacz won the indoor ATP World Tour 250 tournament in Marseille after defeating France’s Benjamin Bonzi 6-3, 7-6 (4) in a final defined by plenty of creative and, at times, outrageous shot making on Sunday.
The World No. 11, who fired 19 aces and won 93 percent of points on his first serve, needed 92 minutes to finish the match and clinched his seventh singles title.
Hurkacz beat Swiss Leandro Riedi (4-6, 6-3, 6-2), Swede Mikael Ymer (6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (6)) and Kazakh Alexander Bublik (6-4, 7-6 (4)) in his previous games at the Palais des sports de Marseille.
