Hurricanes destroy Devils 6-1 and lead 2-0 in the series

Jesperi Kotkaniemi notched 2 goals in 150 seconds in the Hurricanes’ 4-goal 2^nd period; Frederik Andersen made 28 saves to let the Carolina Hurricanes trash the New Jersey Devils 6-1 at PNC Arena in Raleigh, NC, and now lead 2-0 in that East 2^nd Round matchup.

Jordan Staal and Martin Necas also notched in that 2^nd period, making home fans go crazy with happiness and joy.

For the 2^nd straight match, Devils goalie Akira Schmid was subbed, as that happened in Game 1 also as he left the ice in the 2^nd period and now when the result got 4-0.

Jordan Martinook and Stefan Noesen were the other goal scorers in the 3^rd period, and Hurricanes humiliated the Devils for a 2^nd match in a row.

Game 3 will be on Sunday in New Jersey, and the Devils must win at home if they want to get back in the series.
