The Carolina team run riot en rout to a comfortable victory

The Carolina Hurricanes came out victorious 5-1 against New Jersey Devils in Game 1 of the 2nd round of the playoffs on Wednesday night.

Brett Pesce and Seth Jarvis scored in an excellent first period display, as goals from Jesperi Kotkaniemi, Brady Skeji and Jesper Fast rounded off the final 5-1.

Nathan Bastian was the sole scorer for the Devils, as they struggled to make any sort of stamp in the game.

“We didn’t get to our game,” forward Jesper Bratt said.

“We were a little sloppy on the puck. We were a little slow getting to pucks and supporting each other. When you’re not supporting each other against a team like this … you’re not going to create that much.”

Game 2 will be held on Friday in Raleigh as the Devils will be looking to make up for their miserable first game.
