Ihmir Smith-Marsette has joined the Carolina in a deal involving a swap for conditional 2025 7th-round draft pick from the Kansas City Chiefs.

Smith-Marsette has enjoyed a strong pre-season for the Chiefs, where he was second in the league with 195 yards receiving on 9 receptions.
The 24-year-old averaged 21.7 yards per catch, including two 40-plus yards, while playing as a replacement for Blaine Gabbert.
The Panthers are in a desperate need of a receiver after suffering a severe injury setbacks for all of their top players in that position.
DJ Chark, Terrace Marshall Jr. and Laviska Shenault Jr. all sat out the preseason finale.
The Panthers’ roster is currently at 80 players, which means the team has to cut down 27 player to get it down to 53 by the deadline, which is 4 p.m. today.
