Indiana Pacers player Bennedict Mathurin will undergo a campaign-ending procedure to repair a torn right labrum; the franchise shared today.
Bennedict Mathurin has been diagnosed with a torn labrum in his right shoulder, an injury which will require surgery.
He will miss the remainder of the 2023-24 season and is expected to make a full recovery ahead of the 2024-25 season.

Bennedict’s loss is a crucial blow to the roster of the league’s top-rated offensive organization.
The surgery will be performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache in LA in a few days, according to the Pacers. The guard is expected to fully recover for the beginning of the next campaign.
He has performed above expectations since the start of the campaign, averaging 19 points on over 40% shooting from the 3-point line in his last 5 matches.
Bennedict (21) – a 2023 All-Rookie 1st-team pick – averaged almost 15 points and became among Indiana leaders from the bench on 1 of the NBA’s best bench units. Mathurin was the MVP of the 2024 Rising Stars match on All-Star Weekend.
He was the 6th overall selection in 2022 and averaged almost 17 points in his rookie campaign. Indiana began today 35-29 and 8th in the standings in the East.
