In a very surprising move, Indianapolis Colts All-Pro linebacker Shaquille Leonard was waived by the franchise today, as they decided to do it after his poor form and recent problems with injuries.
Despite being cut by the Colts, Shaquille Leonard hosted his Turkey Drive event in Indianapolis this afternoon 👏
“When I found out today, I was heartbroken … now just seeing the smiles on [fan’s] faces, they’re bringing joy to me.”

Shaquille, who returned to the field this campaign after 2 back surgeries in the past year to correct nerve issues, was getting inconsistent time on the field as the linebacker tried to get in his best shape. His declining performances made managers to remove him from the field on 3rd downs and had him most recently splitting earlier snaps with E.J. Speed – something that annoyed the All-Pro LB.
In 2 separate interviews with the media, Leonard admitted his frustration with how he played since the beginning of the campaign. After the head coach told him he would split reps on early downs, the linebacker shared, “It was awful hearing that.”
