Chicago Bears signed quarterback Tim Boyle and defensive lineman Andrew Brown, the NFL team said on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old Boyle, who joined the Bears from the Lions practice squad, started three games last year, going 0-3.
In five appearances, he completed 65 percent of his passes for 526 yards with three touchdowns and six interceptions, compiling a passer rating of 63.5.
Bears coach Matt Eberflus said that Boyle was signed as a precaution, with Justin Fields (shoulder) and Trevor Siemian (oblique) nursing injuries.
Brown, who was signed off the Cardinals practice squad off the Cardinals’ practice squad, spent the majority of his first two NFL seasons with the Bengals before joining the Texans two years ago.
The Bears also placed safety Dane Cruikshank on injured reserve.
