After waiting almost 30 days, Inter Miami FC finally introduced Messi to a full-capacity crowd at DRV PNK Stadium. Leo signed a multiyear deal with the side, becoming the most popular signing in the MLS history since David Beckham in 2007 when he landed in 2007.
“I’m delighted to have chosen to come to Miami with my family, to have chosen this team, and I have no doubt that it is the right choice,” Lionel shared after his introduction. “We will enjoy it, and phenomenal things are going to happen. I want to thank every one of you who came here to see and support me.
“I can’t wait to be on the field and play. I feel the same ambition I’ve always had to compete, to want to triumph and help my club progress and eventually win trophies”.
Beckham was the 1st soccer superstar to play in the Major League Soccer, and now he, as a president, brings to the league another superstar.
“I’m so happy to be here! I can’t wait to start training and competing. I’m here to compete, to win, to help the team as I always did”.
“I come here with the same desire as always. We will enjoy a lot”.
