Simone Inzaghi’s men were the far superior team and they deservedly walked away with the full 3 points.
Hakan Calhanoglu gave the visitors the lead just before half-time, which was no more than what Inter deserved.
In the second half the defending Serie A champions tried to fight back, but their efforts came to no avail. Nicolo Barella finished off a brilliant attack from Inter to give them a 2-0 lead.
Marcus Thuram rounded off the final scoreline of 3-0 late in the match to compound Napoli’s misery.
The win means Inter return to the top, which was briefly occupied by Juventus, with 35 points, two ahead of the Old Lady. Napoli’s struggles continue as the team plummets out of the top 4 due to inferior goal difference to AS Roma.
