J.J. Barea has become a head-coach in his home country Puerto Rico.
The former NBA guard has agreed to sign a contract as a manager for Mets de Guyanabo , according to the report of Sham Charania of the Athletic.
14-year NBA veteran and 2011 champion JJ Barea is becoming the head coach of the Guaynabo Mets in the Puerto Rican Professional Basketball League, per sources. Barea enters coaching side for first time in his native Puerto Rico.

Barea spent 14 seasons in the NBA, playing for the Mavericks and Timberwolves, winning the championship with Dallas in 2011, when he averaged 9.5 point per game.
He has a tremendous assists record, which ranks 9th in the franchise’s history (2,441 assists in total).
Barea was highly successful with the Puerto Rican national team as well, clinching 13 medals, including 2 in the Pan American Games and 2 in the FIBA AmeriCup.
