Ja Morant has to go through eight games without pay for a conduct detrimental to the league, an official statement from the NBA concluded.
Morant will be available for Memphis’ game against Dallas Mavericks on 20 March.
“Ja’s conduct was irresponsible, reckless and potentially very dangerous,” was said in the statement.
“Ja has also made it clear to me that he has learned from his incident and that he understands his obligations and responsibility to the Memphis Grizzlies and the broader NBA community extend well beyond his play on the court.”

Morant hasn’t seen play ever since 3 March, when the Grizzlies lost to the Nuggets 113-97, as he managed to score 27 points. Hours later he made that infamous Instagram video, where he holds a gun in a nightclub somewhere in Denver.
Questions remain whether Morant will be mentally up for the task to return on 20 March and some believe that he may not be ready for the game against the Mavericks.
