LeBron James and Anthony Davis will miss Los Angelis Lakers’ game against the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday, the NBA team said.
James will be absent due to left ankle soreness as the Lakers star will miss his first game since sitting out more than two weeks in November with a strained left adductor.
Davis is not available because he has flu-like symptoms. The Lakers, however, have said his illness is not related to COVID-19.
Lakers coach Darvin Ham said that Davis had tried to play through the illness against Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday, “but he just felt too weak, just too drained — dehydrated a little bit.”
The team also announced that Patrick Beverley is doubtful for the Raptors game because of right knee soreness.
The Lakers have won eight of their past 11 games to pull their record up to 10-13 on the season.
