Gregus has previously played for Minnesota United FC and the San Jose Earthquakes and has 2 goals and 24 assists to his name in 90 MLS appearances. Before joining the MLS, the Slovakian International was part of the Danish club FC Copenhagen.
“We are excited to be able to add Ján to our group,” Nashville head coach Mike Jacobs said in a release.
“He’s someone our staff has been a fan of since watching him play for Minnesota United when he first entered MLS as well as for his country, and believe he fits into what we look for in a player in that role on and off the field. His range of passing and playmaking out of midfield make him a welcome addition.”
Gregus joins a midfield full of experience with names like Dax McCarty, Sean Davis, Anibal Godoy and Brian Anunga in the Nashville team. In that regard, manager Jacobs has plenty of choice and has the possibility to rotate his players.
Nashville currently sit 2nd in the Eastern Conference table, with two wins and a draw. The team is yet to concede a goal and is aiming to reach forth straight Audi MLS Cup Playoffs. They play New England Revolution for Matchday 4 on Saturday and Gregus will be available for that game.
