Leo could break Revs' attendance record next month.

The waited visit of Leo Messi to Gillette Stadium in April is set to break the New England Revolution’s long-standing single-match attendance record, with over 60,000 tickets already sold for the clash against Inter Miami, the MLS club announced today.

Only around 5,000 tickets remain for the April 27th league match, New England revealed. That means that it is almost certain that we will see a new record as the game is still 1 month away. Revolution’s current record is 61,316 fans who watched the MLS Cup in 2002 against the Los Angeles Galaxy.

Gillette Stadium, which is also the home of 6-time Super Bowl champs NE Patriots, has been welcoming supporters since 2002. The record for New England regular-campaign game at Gillette is only 43,000 fans 9 years ago.

New England, on the other side, had average home attendance in the National Football League of over 63,000 people.

Despite supporters anticipation to see Leo in New England, is it still unknown if the football superstar will be on the pitch. Messi didn’t play in his team last 2 MLS games, as he also didn’t join his national team for friendly matches in the USA because of a hamstring problem.
