Carrick talks about Mount’s injury after the player limps out vs. PSG

The Red Devils manager, Michael Carrick, has moved to calm supporters about Mason Mount after the player was forced off early during a pre-season match against PSG.

The English midfielder spent less than 20 minutes on the pitch in Gothenburg before a suspected knock cut his afternoon short, and the fans worried about the extent of his injury.

The supporters of the club from Old Trafford held their collective breath during the past weekend when Mason was forced off early during the 1-1 draw vs. the Champions League winners in Sweden. The former Chelsea star, whose time on the pitch after his transfer to Man United has been significantly disrupted by fitness issues, spent less than 20 minutes suffering a problem and being replaced by Tyler Fletcher.

However, his boss shared with the media that there is nothing to worry about Mount’s fitness at the moment: “Mason got kicked. We didn’t want to take any risk and look after Mount. We have been lucky with injuries until this moment, and we don’t want to take any chances so close to the new season.”
