Arsenal have opened talks with Newcastle to ink their star, Bruno Guimaraes.
The sides are understood to be in formal dialogue regarding the Magpies’ captain, with previous talks being done through intermediaries. Bruno, who is 28 years old, is keen to sign with Mikel Arteta’s team.
Whether the two clubs will make a deal soon is still unclear, but there is a high chance that everything will be concluded in the upcoming days.
Arsenal had asked Newcastle if a 70 million pound offer would be enough, but the Magpies answered through intermediaries that the Gunners would need to increase the bid.
Guimaraes has traveled to Spain with the Magpies’ pre-season training camp, as planned, after his post-World Cup break ended. However, that doesn’t mean anything, and the Brazilian is ready to leave the camp at any time to finish everything around his transfer to Arsenal if the 2 clubs reach an agreement.
The Gunners head coach, Mikel Arteta, refused to talk about Bruno specifically a few days ago, but revealed that Arsenal are very active and will do everything possible to sign the players that they want this summer.
