Sinner won the 1st set 6-4, but to be able to triumph, he converted 3 breaks as he lost his serve twice.
In the 2nd set, Jannik totally dominated and won 6-1 as the Italian broke De Minaur’s serve 2 times and, at the same time, didn’t give any break points chances to Alex.
That is Sinner’s 1st ATP Masters 1000 title in his career as he lost 2 Masters 1000 finals before that. The Italian tennis player won his 2nd title since the beginning of the year and 8 total in his career.
1 – Jannik Sinner has claimed his first ATP Masters 1000 title. Sinner is only the second Italian to do so since the format began in 1990 and the first on hard court, with Fabio Fognini winning on clay – Monte-Carlo 2019. Maiden.#NBO23 | @NBOtoronto @atptour @ATPMediaInfo pic.twitter.com/LCUBlqXeys
