Utah Jazz owner Ryan Smith would also be happy to be in the hockey business, not just in the basketball one.

Utah’s owner shared that the NHL team would succeed in his market.

“I’m sure for many reasons, we’re not only ready, but hockey will receive a lot of love and thrive in Salt Lake as how the things went in Seattle and also in Vegas,” Ryan shared in an interview. “I do not doubt all that this will be the case.”

Smith also has a stake in Real Salt Lake, as the soccer club play in the MLS. Ryan thinks that if a team relocates to Salt Lake City or is created via expansion will not matter for the succession of the franchise.
