New York Jets will have to prepare for one of their most anticipated seasons in recent years with one man down.
An MRI confirmed Chuck Clark has suffered a torn ACL, and the veteran safety will miss the 2023 season, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Thursday.
Clark injured his knee during the final week of practice during team activities. Rapoport adds that Clark sought a second opinion on the matter, and it explains why the Jets signed veteran Adrian Amos that same week. Clark was a three-year starter for the Ravens before getting traded to New York. He missed just one game during that span, getting three interceptions, 20 passes defensed, three forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries for 49 games.
#Jets S Chuck Clark suffered a torn ACL and is out for the season, sources said following the MRI. Clark, who NYJ traded for, also received a second opinion. This explains the signing of veteran DB Adrian Amos, who fills the void.

Clark’s injury may complicate his future in New York, because he enters the final year of his current contract.
