DT Jonathan Allen and the Cincinnati Bengals have agreed to a 2-year, 26 million dollar deal.
The defensive tackle’s contract can be worth up to 28 million through bonuses.
Jonathan, who is 31 years old, was another cap casualty of the Vikings and was officially released at the start of the new NFL year.
He is the 2nd major addition that Cincinnati has made to improve its defensive line. The franchise also inked ex-Seahawks ER Boye Mafe to a 3-year contract worth 20 million dollars annually.
At 13 million dollars per year, excluding bonuses, Johathan is 1 of the most expensive footballers in the Bengals defense. Allen ranks just behind Mafe and new safety Bryan Cook.
The Bengals are trying everything possible to overhaul a unit that struggled in the past campaign, particularly up front. Cincinnati also lost ERs Trey Hendrickson and Joseph Ossai.
Johanthan inked with the Bengals as a free agent last year, earning over 16 million dollars in his single campaign with Minnesota. The defensive tackle played in all 17 matches and finished with 68 tackles and 3.5 sacks.
