Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has firmly denied any interest in taking over the England national team job, labeling such a move as the “biggest loss of face in the history of football.”
Speculation about Klopp’s potential interest in the position arose after Gareth Southgate stepped down following England’s defeat to Spain in the Euro 2024 final. Klopp, however, was quick to quash these rumors during his appearance at the International Coaches’ Congress in Wurzburg, Germany.
“At the moment, there is nothing at all in terms of jobs. No club, no country,” the 57-year-old German coach stated. “England? That would be the biggest loss of face in the history of football if I said I’ll make an exception for you.”

Klopp left Liverpool at the end of last season, citing fatigue after a successful nine-year tenure that saw him win numerous titles including the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, two League Cups, FIFA Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup.
