The Chicago Bears have announced that quarterback Justin Fields will be ready to make an appearance for Sunday’s clash against the Detroit Lions.
The news was announced by coach Matt Eberflus after the 24-year-old missed 4 games due to dislocated thumb.
“Our plan is to start him on Sunday,” Eberflus said. “He continues to progress this week. Returning to practice today is going to be a big part of the evaluation.”
It might turn out to be a pivotal game for Fields’ future at Chicago as he is preparing to sign a new contract in the next 7 weeks.
“I think seven weeks is enough time to show consistency and being the high performer that we expect him to be,” Eberflus said. “I know he’s had some good performances along this year, certainly the last few have been solid.”
