Juventus will be forced to stand in front of a sport’s trial, the Italian football association(FIGC) announced on Friday.
The charges are alleged irregularities in the club’s payments to players and also an undue relationship with players’ agents and other clubs.
The new trial could result in points deductions, separate from the one, which may follow after the Monday’s hearing, concerning the transfer irregularities.
Juventus were deducted 15 points in January, which was temporarily overturned until the new hearing.
This is yet another blow to the image of one of the most prestigious clubs not only in Italy, but the whole world. The Old Lady has been enmeshed in numerous controversies this season alone.
If another points deduction is applied, it may prove costly for them as Max Allegri’s men sit second with 69 points, 8 points in front of fifth-placed Milan. This means they may as well find themselves out of the Champions League’s spots.
