Leandro Trossard’s second-half goal secured Arsenal a crucial draw against Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.
The hosts got off to a flying start at the Emirates Stadium when Bukayo Saka found the back of the net early on with a well-placed shot that eluded goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.
However, Bayern Munich quickly turned the tide as former Arsenal player Serge Gnabry leveled the score with a hooked finish. England captain Harry Kane then capitalized on a penalty opportunity after William Saliba brought down Leroy Sane, giving Bayern the lead.
With just under 15 minutes remaining, substitute Leandro Trossard came to Arsenal’s rescue, sweeping in a goal from Gabriel Jesus’ pass to secure the equalizer.
The two sides will clash again in the second leg in Munich on Wednesday, April 17th, with Arsenal aiming to advance to the next stage of the competition.
