The Oilers came back on winning ways after their 16-game streak was halted in Las Vegas

Evander Kane completed his eighth career hat trick, and Leon Draisaitl netted the go-ahead goal in the third period, leading the Edmonton Oilers to a 5-3 comeback triumph over the Anaheim Ducks on Friday. Zach Hyman added a goal, and Connor McDavid contributed three assists, extending his five-game point streak to 12 points. The Oilers bounced back after their 16-game winning streak was halted in Las Vegas, with goaltender Calvin Pickard securing his fifth consecutive victory with 24 saves.

Ryan Strome scored twice, and Cam Fowler had a goal and an assist for the Ducks, ending their two-game winning streak and four-game points streak (3-0-1). John Gibson, the Anaheim goalie, stopped 19 of 21 shots before exiting the game after the second period due to a lower-body injury. Lukas Dostal took over and made eight saves, but the loss was handed to him.

In a tied game at 3-3, Draisaitl gave the Oilers their first lead at 10:09 into the third period, converting a power-play one-timer from the right faceoff dot for his 24th goal of the season. Kane sealed the victory with an empty-netter, securing his 18th goal of the campaign in a back-and-forth contest.

Despite the Ducks dominating most of the play in the opening frame, Fowler opened the scoring with his third goal of the season late in the first period. Kane equalized in the second period, taking advantage of a disarmed Gibson after a stick knock by teammate Corey Perry.

Strome quickly restored the Ducks’ lead, scoring 29 seconds later with a deke in front of the net. Kane once again leveled the score just over three minutes later with a shot from the slot.

Strome provided the Ducks their third lead of the night on a power-play goal at 3:20 of the third period. The Oilers responded, tying the game when Hyman tapped in a goal at 8:41, assisted by McDavid, for his 31st of the season.
