Kansas City Chiefs DE Charles Omenihu tore an ACL in yesterday’s AFC Championship Game and won’t be able to appear in Super Bowl LVIII vs. the San Francisco 49ers, his ex-franchise.
Omenihu confirmed the unfortunate news on his social media.
#Chiefs pass rusher Charles Omenihu suffered a torn ACL vs the #Ravens, sources tell @BleacherReport.
Omenihu was a huge part of KC’s defensive surge, recording 7 sacks and 2 FF in 11 games — and had a strip sack on Lamar Jackson that resulted in a turnover vs Baltimore.

Charles had a career-high 7 sacks this campaign, his 1st in Kansas City, despite being sidelined in the 1st 6 matches with a National Football League suspension. He had a strip-sack of Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson before leaving the field injured.
Kansas City faced the Ravens without starting DT Derrick Nnadi, who was placed on IR before the match with a triceps problem. Derrick will miss the Super Bowl also.
Omenihu became part of the Chiefs this campaign as a free agent after 4 campaigns split between Houston and San Francisco. He had almost 12 sacks in those campaigns, including 4.5 for San Francisco in 2022.
