Team USA got an enormous competition within its squad as they defeated Serbia 110-84 in their opening Olympic game. But after the match some of the focus was on manager Steve Kerr choosing to sit 1st-team All-NBA basketballer and champ Jayson Tatum.
Steve met with Jayson before Team USA’s 1st match at the Olympics to explain the choice and then in multiple meetings with the reporters. That was featured today when the head coach revealed that Tatum would be part of the lineup on Wednesday when they face South Sudan.
“Tatum will be on the court on our next match,” Kerr shared. “I’m not going to answer your next question, which is if he is in the lineup, who doesn’t? But our team needs Jayson, and part of this job for me is to keep everybody engaged and ready because my experience with this is unexpected things happen all the time.”
