The right-hander will not participate in the game against Arizona
Kevin Gausman has been ruled out of Saturday’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks due to left side discomfort.
The 32-year-old underwent MRI test, which revealed no damaged and his condition will be monitored day by day.
Gausman is 7-5 with a 3.03 ERA in 19 starts. The two-time All-Star signed a five-year, $110-million contract with Toronto before the 2022 season.
The 32-year-old has played also for Baltimore, Atlanta, Cincinnati and San Francisco.
Chris Bassit will take Gausman’s place for the game.
Bassitt is 8-5 with a 4.19 ERA in 19 starts. He signed a three-year, $63 million contract with the Blue Jays last offseason.
