The change comes as the team went 3-7-5 in the past month and has dropped to the 1st wild-card place in the West.
At the beginning of the campaign, the Kings won 11 straight matches away from home to begin the season, a National Hockey League record.
This was Todd’s 5th campaign with the franchise. McLellan led the Kings to the postseason the previous 2 campaigns, but his team was eliminated in the 1st round both times by the Edmonton Oilers.
In the past campaign, Los Angeles finished with a 47-25-10 record.
“We appreciate McLellan for his hard work and dedication to the team,” shared Kings GM Rob Blake.
The general manager added that Todd helped the organization move forward and made a positive impact during his time with the team.
