Klay was on the bench for the 1st time since March 2012, during the lockout-delayed 1st campaign in the NBA. Rookie guard Brandin Podziemski took his place from the 1st minute on the court and had 13 points, 8 assists, and 6 boards.

“You can do 2 things: You can be sad or you can enter the court and respond,” shared Klay, who became the 6th Warriors basketballer to surpass 15,000 points. “I believe I did the latter very well tonight.”
Klay had started 727 consecutive matches, the 4th longest active streak in the league behind only DeMar DeRozan, Damian Lillard, and his teammate Steph Curry.
