Liverpool were playing for their “brother” Luis Díaz in the club’s 3-0 victory against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League at Anfield yesterday, head coach Jurgen Klopp admitted, as police in Colombia search for the player’s kidnapped father.
Kidnappers tried to get both parents of Luis near the place they live in Colombia on Saturday, but his mother was rescued. Colombian President Gustavo Petro shared that the police are trying everything possible to rescue his father as soon as possible.
Diaz was not part of Liverpool’s squad vs. Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
The Reds boss shared with the media that his forward wanted to return to his country but didn’t tell if he did it.
“I don’t want to make the match bigger than it was, but it was definitely, we tried to encourage Diaz with what we show on the pitch,” Klopp told after the victory against Forest.
“The boys fought for him!”💪
