Brunson, who has been in remarkable form throughout the playoffs, recorded his fifth 40-point game in 11 postseason appearances this spring. He also contributed seven assists and four rebounds in 43 minutes of play. His dominant performance was supported by Josh Hart, who logged 18 points and 11 rebounds, and Isaiah Hartenstein, who pulled down 17 rebounds, including 12 offensive boards, tying a franchise playoff record set by Charles Oakley in 1994 against the Chicago Bulls.
Alec Burks added 18 points off the bench, and Miles McBride scored 17 points for the Knicks. Despite a shortened rotation due to injuries, with key players like Julius Randle (shoulder) out for the season, Mitchell Robinson (ankle) out until mid-June, and OG Anunoby (hamstring) missing his third straight game, the Knicks managed to dominate the Pacers and move closer to advancing in the playoffs.
