The new contract, set to start 2025-26, will carry an average annual value of almost 9 million dollars, a raise from the 5.5 million dollar cap hit the forward will carry in the upcoming campaign. Konecny will be Philadelphia’s highest-paid player when the extension starts, jumping ahead of Sean Couturier, who is inked at a cap hit of almost 8 million dollars.
“Travis Konecny is a crucial part of the fabric of our organization, and we are thrilled to have him under deal for the long-term,” Philadelphia GM Daniel Brière shared.
Travis (27) had 33 goals and 68 points in 76 matches with the team in the past campaign, leading the Flyers in multiple offensive categories. Konecny also topped the 30-goal mark 2 years ago with 31 goals in just 60 matches.
“It’s a dream come true to ink this extension with Philadelphia,” claimed the 27-year-old forward.
