Chris Kreider scored his 35th career game-winning goal to give New York Rangers а 1-0 win over Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday.
Carter Hart had stopped all 35 shots before Kreider finally netting the winner on a breakaway at 4:07 of overtime after a pass from Mika Zibanejad for Rangers’ third successive victory.
Kreider scored his fourth of the season and Igor Shesterkin made 19 saves to delight the Madison Square Garden crowd as Kreider also levelled Steve Vickers for eighth-most in franchise history.
“It was loud all night. They (the fans) were getting as frustrated as we were that pucks weren’t going in, ″ Kreider said. ”It was an exciting ending.”
New York Rangers are 7-2-2 in their last 11 games against the Flyers.
