The LA Kings decided to part ways with Rob Blake, the organization’s GM and vice president of hockey operations, after a 4th consecutive 1st-round postseason elimination.
Rob didn’t have a deal beyond the 2024-25 campaign. The position of coach Jim Hiller, who has 2 years left on his deal after the former general manager elevated him to head coach in the current campaign, will be decided by the next GM.
Rob Blake’s time with the Los Angeles Kings is at an end.

Rob (55) was elevated to the Kings general manager position on April 2017 after being an assistant GM under Dean Lombardi beginning in 2013-14, the last time Los Angeles triumphed with the Stanley Cup.
In 8 campaigns as general manager, Blake’s selections made the Stanley Cup postseason 5 times. However, the Kings lost in the 1st-round each time, as the Knights beated them in 2018 and then the Oilers eliminated them for 4 consecutive playoffs, including in Game 6 on the past week.
